Positive thinking is more than just a state of mind, it is the way we embrace life.  Yes, thinking positively in general can help anyone, but we must take into consideration just how powerful the mind and subconscious mind truly are.   In fact, the mind is the most powerful tool that one could use to successfully tackle adversity, so it should not be too far fetched of an idea to apply this concept to coping with invisible chronic illness.  The power of the human mind is infinite, and remains so even in our darkest and most painful times. It is during these times that it is helpful to remember the importance of balance. When we are chronically sick, we need proper physical care through appropriate treatment, rest, exercise and proper nutrition, but it is as equally important to pay adequate attention to our mental health as well. It is within the realm of positive thought that we find the inner strength to cope and endure the most challenging times in our lives. This is why you’ll see many beautiful pictures, quotes, positive messages, encouraging words and informative articles here on The Positive Pear.  Maintaining a positive mental attitude is one important aspect of holistic health & whole body wellness and it is crucial to healing, keeping our symptoms at bay and improving our quality of life.  When given the proper tools, we have the ability to put ourselves in the drivers seat, rather than allowing our disease, condition or circumstances in life to determine our path, or define who we are.  It’s about more than just willing it so, it takes a total mind-body connection, commitment  determination and the ability to focus on all that is good in our lives, rather than seeing ourselves as victims and living a life of defeat. It is amazing just how strong and powerful we truly are when empowered to believe so. ~The Positive Pear~

“If you paint in your mind a picture of bright and happy expectations, you put yourself into a condition conducive to your goal.”
~Norman Vincent Peale~ 1898-1993

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.” ~Buddha~

“Positive thinking is expecting, talking and visualizing with certainty what you want to achieve, as an accomplished fact.” ~Remez Sasson~

“Every thought of yours is a real thing – a force.” ~Prentice Mulford~1834-1891

“Watch your thoughts, they become words.  Watch your words, they become actions.  Watch your actions, they become habits.  Watch your habits, they become your character.  Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.” ~ Lao Tzu~ (Also a variation of  the quote bellow by Buddha)

The thought manifests as the word; The word manifests as the deed; The deed develops into habit; And habit hardens into character. So watch the thought and its ways with care, And let it spring from love born out of concern for all beings.”  ~Buddha~

I’ve never read the secret or seen the DVD, but this is a philosophy that I have believed in and lived by for more then 15 years, as a result of reading “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill (1873-1970)   The “Secret” is not an original idea, but it is in part based upon a concept that I embrace, as shown by the next two quotes from the author: “Thoughts are magnetic, and thoughts have a frequency.  As you think, those thoughts are sent out into the Universe, and they magnetically attract all like things that are on the same frequency. Everything sent out returns to the source. And that source is You.”  ~Rhonda Byrne ~

Your current thoughts are creating your future life. What you think about the most or focus on the most will appear as your life.   • • Your thoughts become things • • ~Rhona Byrne~

We begin to see, therefore, the importance of selecting our environment with the greatest of care, because environment is the mental feeding ground out of which the food that goes into our minds is extracted. ~Napoleon Hill~ 1873-1970

“Whatever the mind can conceive it can achieve quote” ~W Clement Stone~ 1902-2002
